3 Quick-Fix Solutions for Excessive Head Sweat

Sometimes we need a quick-fix in life. There are those makeshift things we do to stop leaky faucets until the plumber arrives, and those snacks that hold us over until dinnertime. We can also use quick-fixes when dealing with various health disorders, such as excessive head sweat. If you suffer from this problem, then you may have considered one of the quick-fixes. Here are some of the most common ones:

1. Ointments.

The problem with ointments is that they don`t provide true relief from the hyperactive sweat glands in your head. Although manufacturers often advertise them as THE solution for such perspiring, they don`t solve the root of the problem. And in fact, they may just help to temporarily reduce the amount of perspiring that your head experiences. So ointments aren`t the real deal.

Besides being ineffective, another problem with ointments is that they can cause a wide variety of side-effects. The reason is that they contain a Frankensteinian list of manmade ingredients that your body could react adversely to. Since these chemicals are unnatural, you shouldn`t really expect anything except an unnatural reaction! Suffering from excessive head sweat can be a pain in the neck. But when you compound the problem with side-effects, the situation becomes even more problematic!

2. Headband.

When exercising, a headband helps to absorb a lot of the sweat that originates from your head and forehead. Yes, it can definitely be effective in reducing the amount of perspiration that flows from your scalp. Athletes in all types of sports wear headbands, so perspiration doesn`t impact their ability to see. Even if you don`t suffer from excessive head sweat, those salty secretions can become really annoying.

The irony is that exercise and other physical activity typically don't cause those with perspiration problems, to break out in a flood of sweat! More common triggers include stress and emotional upheavals, hot and humid environments, and eating spicy food. That makes the headband an impractical option, unless you`d feel comfortable wearing it all day. Besides getting a lot of stares from people, your boss would probably deem headbands as inappropriate office attire.

Yet another problem with wearing headbands is that it only deals with the symptoms of abnormal sweating—rather than the root cause. So while your face will stay a little dryer, your head can still sweat buckets!

3. Hat.

If you have problems with excessive head sweat, why not cover up the problem with a hat—like you`d use a hairpiece to cover up a bald spot? Yes, a hat will conceal the problem better than a headband can. But one of the same problems that you`d have is that it would be awkward or a faux pas to wear hats in certain situations. Another problem shared with the headband solution, is that wearing a hat doesn`t address the real cause of your profuse head sweating. So it`s really no solution at all!
